rudy ruettiger....against all odds

'Everyone told me, I couldn't do it, but in the end, I reached that goal'
" I got tired of the noise of everyone telling me why I couldn't and why I shouldn't and why I wouldn't. I felt like I was living in a box labeled " this is where you belong". Well that's a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you hear it enough you start believing it.
I know that if I don't change my friends or my circumstances soon, I'd ended up somewhere I didn't want to be,
pg 77. I'm going to control this deal by volunteering instead of having someone else tell me what to do. I saw that by taking control of things, you get better options.
It was a book called Psycho-Cybernatics by Maxwell Maltz that has caught rudy by surprise on what a mind is capable of doing.

' one message stood out for me . You are in control of your destiny. Your mind is very powerful, what you think is your reality. Just because something is a struggle doesn't mean you can't do it. it just means you've got to find a different way of doing it.
pg 78: " I'm going to do this, period, end of sentence," and new opportunities created just by my showing up. I went without a game plan. Maltz said if you take action, the plan will unfold in front of you. You can develop your game plan as you move toward your goal.
Sometimes it's better not to have everything laid out. Focusing too much on how you think it should happen/go can cause you to miss opportunities. Everyone of us uses our mind to create our life. Willing to swim against the streams, fight against the odds and believe you can be whatever you want to be.
