the friday night knitting club by kate jacobs

earlier was alittle bit slow, but starting middle part of the book it got more interesting. so cool to have the knitting supply shops. all the beautiful colors......

Georgia and Dakota. Mother and daughter relationship. Georgia raising her daughter coz her boyfriend had left her when she was pregnant. typical. but than she has managed to do what all mothers would do.raised her daughter with all her heart plus she has managed to own a knit shop. how cool.

among others...grans wisdom thoughts...'sometimes people just dont get things right...peaople sometimes dont do the right thing...then you're left deciding how you are going to react to what they offer. Because you can't make them change.

chris daughtry what about now

cool song. got message. let's listen to it

What About Now lyrics

Shadows fill an empty heart
As love is fading,
From all the things that we are
But are not saying.
Can we see beyond the scars
And make it to the dawn?

Change the colors of the sky.
And open up to
The ways you made me feel alive,
The ways I loved you.
For all the things that never died,
To make it through the night,
Love will find you.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

The sun is breaking in your eyes
To start a new day.
This broken heart can still survive
With a touch of your grace.
Shadows fade into the light.
I am by your side,
Where love will find you.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love, it never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

Now that we're here,
Now that we've come this far,
Just hold on.
There is nothing to fear,
For I am right beside you.
For all my life,
I am yours.

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?

What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?

chellie campbell; the wealthy spirit

i came across her when i read the you've got to read this book. who is chellie? a former bookkeeper & musical comedy actress whom has created the popular financial stress reduction workshop. it teaches you on managing your financial .

but the most interesting thing here is, chellie coach the coaches to teach on her principles. it is disseminated around the US without the need of her to be there. that's pretty cool.

  • Are you someone that others always call for good advice?
  • Do you enjoy meeting new people and making new friends?
  • Do you enjoy teaching, counseling, training, speaking, or coaching?
  • Would you like to work for yourself doing work you love, making a great income, and helping others do the same?
this Q was asked. Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes.

as for chellie, she had gain something valuables in her life after she read this book.

'i couldn't believe what i was reading. page after page gave me explicit instructions on how to please myself before pleasing others. it said that i had the right to choose my own happiness first. that i could say no. and more importantly, that i had the right not to explain why i was saying no.'

this was all due to her boss than, whom was less than sensitive enough to care for the employee, very self absorbed and doesn't know how to behave, speak more than to acknowledge his subordinates. Mentally re***ded i would say. very familiar.

she read the book and the next time her boss yell at her, she was able to yell at him back. he never yelled at her again.

'Smiths' book said not to give your reasons for saying no, or the conversations would degenerate into an argument over the validity of your reasons. i just said no.'

so people learn to say NO

lisa nichols " no matter what " achieve your dreams

lisa a motivational speaker, personal coach and founder of Motivating the Teen Spirit. She has been recognized wt several awards for her dedication to bettering the lives of teens - and adults.

No Matter What: Lisa Nichols - Watch the best video clips here

http://www.lisa-nichols.com/Home.asp

lisa had a normal decent job and was good at it in her early twenties but she felt that she needed to be doing something more. searching for her purpose , her passion for who she wanted to be in this world.

she came accross the book by Stephen Covey, 7 habits of Highly Effective People

a part of the book had us to meditate. imagining we are in a funeral and it was our own. What would they say at our own funeral. how do they remember us by, what kind of person are we. he said " begin with the end in mind".

" i realized in my heart that i wasn't living the way I wanted to be remembered"

" the other things that struck me was that there are so many things i still wanted to do. like be with other people - like sit with my mom and paint her toenail or laugh hysterically with my dad until both our stomachs hurt. i wanted them to have those memories, but i was too busy for those kinds of things at the time"

" i think the most important things that the book has given me was the permission to write my own life. before i read the book, i hadn't let myself ' stand inside' the gift of speaking that God had given me. but i could tell that i had something special to give by the way people reacted to me when i spoke"

" in fact , every important decision i've mad since reading Covey's book has been based on that one question: How do I want to be remembered?"

I felt that we need to find our strength, our specialties and focus on it. make the most of the gift we have but be grounded. remember the people we have around us.

kita dilahirkan di muka bumi ini, semua ada tujuannya tersendiri. cari kekuatan diri. sumbangkan pada dunia. Insya Allah kita akan mati meninggalkan nama.

the inspiring jim maclaren

"Live each moment like it's the last moment in your life."
- Jim MacLaren

pics credit to : http://www.jimmaclaren.com/about.htm

i was mostly inspired by his life story when i caught on him in the book i've read "You've got to read this book" by Jack Canfield, the co creator of the chicken soup series and Gay Hendricks. Jim was a former football player survived a two nearly fatal accidents, first had caused him to lose a leg and had become a incomplete quadriplegic as a result from the second.

he had never given up and refuse to feel sorry for himself. after the first accident he made himself a top marathoner becoming the fastest one legged man in the world.
( tak semua orang begitu. kita mudah mengaku kalah dan walau kita sempurna, kita tak pernah bersyukur dan cuba mencapai potensi diri kita. orang yang kurang upaya macam Jim boleh ' push himself to achieve what he wants to do far more better than those unlike him , yang cukup pancainderanya )

and how bad can it be, he met with another accident. hit by a van when he was in the middle of a bicycle competition. it is a really difficult time for him, he is in constant pain of the condition he's in. that doesn't stop him still. he had become a motivational speaker and also a doctoral candidate.

he said he can easily become bitter and sorry for himself but he was able to redirect the fierce energy to do and accomplish when he got a book he read shortly after his 2nd accident as he struggled to rebuilt his life again. the passion of the western mind: understanding the ideas that has shaped our world view, by Richard Tarnas. Described as an explanation and discussion of western thought from greeks to the present. " I saw that human beings have been searching for life's meaning for a very long time"

he looks at the situation in a positives aspect. ( look at the glass as half full ). " now because of my physical limitations, i had the opportunity to focus deeply on the one thing in life that is worth doing"

he enroll in a writing workshop, went to a graduate school. " my body has been effectively taken away from me- in two installments- but my mind and heart were more than intact, and I used them to explore the depths of my own personality and being"

I am moved by this- " today it is enough to engage with another person, to meditate or write or speak or learn something, for me to feel good about the day. If I simply reflect on my life, the day, this moment, or the beautyof the sun that I am sitting in right now, I am satisfied"

"there are two things I do know: one, we can never know what our lives are going to look like, and two, as long as we accept what happens to us and move forward, we will always be okay. For I have no doubt that unless we fight it, we are always moving toward a better, more whole state of being "
